Louisiana State Police probing fatal collision in Metairie

Tragically, a car accident in Jefferson Parish on Monday morning resulted in the loss of two lives. The incident occurred at around 11 a.m. on Louisiana 3152 near King Street in Metairie. As per Louisiana State Police, the crash took place when Oscar Carter IV, 80, from New Orleans, was driving north on LA 3152 in the center lane while another vehicle was in the left lane traveling north on the same road. Somehow, Carter's car swerved into the left lane, colliding with the right side of the Nissan. Following the initial crash, Carter's vehicle hit a tree in the median, and the Nissan crossed into the southbound lane, hitting another car. Carter unfortunately sustained severe injuries and passed away at the scene, while his passenger, Martha Bradford, 77, from New Orleans, also suffered severe injuries and later died at a local hospital. Those in the Nissan had minor injuries and were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. The authorities are currently investigating the incident.
