Lincoln County head-on collision leaves one dead, one seriously injured

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A Grand Ronde man died, and a Salem woman suffered serious injuries in a head-on crash on Highway 18 in Lincoln County after a pickup crossed into oncoming traffic, Oregon State Police said on Friday. Oregon State Police said they responded to a crash report on Thursday morning at around 10:10 a.m. on Highway 18 near milepost 1 in Lincoln County.   Investigators said that a gray Nissan pickup was driving eastbound on Highway 18 when the pickup went into the westbound lane for unknown reasons and collided head-on with a westbound blue Ford Maverick pickup. The driver of the Nissan was Bryan James Anderson, 35, of Grand Ronde, who was found dead at the scene. Authorities said he was not wearing a seatbelt. The driver of the Ford Maverick pickup was Jenny Fiddyment Wiens, 63, of Salem. Weins was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries. The highway was impacted for about three hours as they investigated the scene. No further information has been released at this time. This is a developing story.
