Lee County deputy vehicle flips in rollover crash in Lehigh Acres

A Lee County Sheriff's Office deputy was involved in a multivehicle rollover crash in Lehigh Acres Monday morning.According to the Lee County Sheriff's Office, deputies responded to the scene of a crash on 23rd Street Southwest in the early hours of the morning.LCSO said the crash involved multiple vehicles, one of which was an LCSO vehicle being driven by a deputy. Pictures from the scene show that the deputy's car rolled over.Gulf Coast News spoke with Aaron Powell, who says he was involved in the crash. He says he was heading west on 23rd Street Southwest and making a left on Rena Avenue South. When he put his turn signal on to make a left, he says that is when the deputy who was driving behind him either lost control or tried passing him.The deputy hit the front left end of his truck, causing him to flip and crash into a neighbor's yard.Powell says he was cited for the incident but is unsure why. Gulf Coast News is waiting for the crash report to reveal more information.LCSO says minor injuries were reported, and at the time of the crash, 23rd Street Southwest was blocked at Sara Avenue South.
