Late afternoon motorcycle crash on the Dual Highway kills 20-year-old
FUNKSTOWN- A crash involving a motorcycle and a sedan outside of Funkstown has killed a young man. Hagerstown PD officers were called to a crash just after 5pm on Friday, July 17th in the 1700 block of the Dual Highway, near its intersection with Edgewood Drive, for a report of an accident involving a motorcycle and a Subaru. On arrival, officers located the victim, identified as Clayton Hendrix, 20, of Smithsburg, Maryland. Hendrix was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. The driver of the Subaru was taken to Meritus Medical Center and treated for non-life-threatening injuries. The Hagerstown Police Department Crash Reconstruction Team was called to the scene and the investigation is ongoing. The results of the investigation will be released to the Washington County State’s Attorney’s Office for review and determination of any applicable charges.
