Lakeside man dies in crash near El Capitan Reservoir
(FOX 5/KUSI) — A Lakeside man has been identified as the victim in a crash on a rural east San Diego County road Thursday afternoon. Kim Alan Burris, a 71-year-old Lakeside man, was pronounced dead at the scene of a crash on El Monte Road, west of El Cajon Mountain Truck Trail, near the El Capitan Reservoir, according to the San Diego County Medical Examiner's Office. The crash, initially reported to possibly involve two cars, was updated by authorities to be a single-car crash that took place at 11 a.m. on Thursday. News helicopter SkyFOX/KUSI in the Sky was over the scene that showed the car off the road in the bushes with heavy front-end damage. The crash is under investigation by the California Highway Patrol.
