Juvenile injured in early-morning Rome accident

ROME, NY (WUTR/WFXV/WPNY) -- A juvenile is in the hospital after an accident in the city of Rome early Friday morning, according to Rome Police. Officers were called to the intersection of East Garden Street and Chatham Street at approximately 8:10 am on Friday, July 17. Upon their arrival to the scene, they located a 13-year-old male with injuries to his head and leg. The juvenile was airlifted to Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse for further evaluation. There is no update on his status, though officers say his injuries do not appear to be life-threatening. It is unknown at this time if there were any other injuries sustained at the scene.
