Juniata County School District van involved in accident
JUNIATA COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM) - The Juniata County School District has reported its second school van accident in a week. The district says on Monday morning, a van transporting charter school students was involved in a minor accident after striking a deer. "We are relieved to report that there were no injuries to riders or the driver, and all students and staff are safe," said Christie Holderman, Superintendent of the Juniata County School District. "We are once again deeply grateful for the prompt and professional response of the Pennsylvania State Police and the ambulance crew and first responders. Their swift action and support in moments like these help ensure the continued safety and well-being of all students." On March 4, the district reported that two students and a driver were taken to the hospital after the van driver hit a patch of ice on Swales Road in Fayette Township. The van then hit a mailbox, went into an embankment, and struck a tree.
