Jeff Knight told passengers to cease calling 911 after ferry crash

New allegations have surfaced concerning the Clearwater ferry crash that resulted in one fatality, as revealed by a search warrant from the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC). The incident involved a 37-foot boat managed by Jeffry Knight, the former owner of the Jannus Live concert venue. According to investigators, Knight allegedly failed to provide assistance following the collision and bypassed law enforcement boats without stopping. Female passengers on Knight's boat reportedly informed investigators that he expressed panic, making statements like "My life is over. I'm going to lose everything." Furthermore, when the women attempted to call 911, Knight allegedly instructed them to desist, saying, "Don't say anything" and "Hang up." Despite Knight's previous assertion that he left the scene due to water accumulation in his boat, the warrant contradicts this claim. In response to the warrant, Knight's attorney stated that the authorities have had possession of the vessel since the incident, and any data will align with his client's previous statements. Knight could potentially face third-degree felony charges associated with the crash, though no arrests have been made at present.
