Israeli man dies in bicycle accident in Thailand, following two other fatalities
An Israeli man tragically lost his life in a motorcycle accident on the Thai island of Koh Samui. This unfortunate incident was the third deadly occurrence involving Israeli citizens in Thailand this month. The victim, Shai Pinto, 51, from Omen in Israel's Gilboa region, lost control of his motorcycle and was fatally struck by a pickup truck. The crash also involved two other vehicles. Pinto was declared dead at the scene. Local volunteers in Thailand, working in coordination with the victim's family and the Foreign Ministry, organized the repatriation of Pinto's body to Israel for burial. He leaves behind his wife, Dorin, and their two children, a 22-year-old son and a 17-year-old daughter. Relatives remembered him as a dedicated gas infrastructure contractor who worked hard to support his family and was actively involved in his children's lives. This incident follows the recent death of 22-year-old Rostislav Noam Mirson, also in a motorcycle crash in northern Thailand, and Yuval Cohen, 23, involved in a traffic accident in Chiang Mai. Mirson was a career serviceman in the Israeli Air Force, while Cohen's family honored his wish of becoming an organ donor upon his return to Israel.
