Investigation underway into fatal Nassau crash
A fatal two-car collision occurred on Monday on State Route 20 in Nassau, leading to the death of one individual. The New York State Police reported that the crash occurred at around 2:10 p.m. Authorities received reports of the incident between Kinderhook Lane and NY Route 66. According to investigators, an eastbound vehicle veered into the opposite lane and collided head-on with a westbound car. The driver of the eastbound vehicle sustained serious injuries and was taken to Albany Medical Center, while the other driver was pronounced dead at the scene. As of Tuesday morning, the New York State Police had not disclosed the identities of those involved. The road remained closed until 6 p.m. for investigation by troopers and the collision reconstruction team. The inquiry is still ongoing.
