Update: Dixie Hwy reopened after deadly crash
Law Enforcement has reopened Dixie Highway after a serious accident involving multiple vehicles. The incident occurred due to poor weather conditions, resulting in a northbound vehicle losing control and colliding with a southbound vehicle. A subsequent impact from another vehicle further complicated the situation. Tragically, one driver passed away after being transported to the University of Louisville Hospital, while the other driver sustained life-threatening injuries. The Hardin County Sheriff’s Office Reconstruction Unit is investigating the crash further. Dixie Hwy was closed near Salt River Rd for an extended period as a result of the incident, which occurred in West Point. The authorities also reported slippery road conditions in Hardin County.
