Investigation underway into fatal accident in Metairie
Authorities in Jefferson Parish are looking into a fatal accident that occurred on Sunday morning in Metairie. Sheriff Joseph Lopinto reported that deputies were called to the scene of a single-car crash on Veterans Boulevard near Neyrey Drive at approximately 6 a.m. An injured man was found in a white two-door car, which had veered off the road. He was taken to a nearby hospital where he later passed away. Initial findings suggest that the vehicle was traveling east on Veterans Boulevard, hitting several curbs before ultimately crashing into a tree at the median. Toxicology results are still pending, and further details have not been released yet.
