Investigation underway for Lincoln morning crash
An intense crash early in the morning in Lincoln led to the closure of both sides of Route 146 for several hours. The incident occurred close to exit 7, just prior to the Route 116 exit. A videographer witnessed a vehicle trapped on top of the median emitting smoke, while a second vehicle was also involved. Three trucks from the Rhode Island Medical Examiner's Office were present at the site. The southbound traffic was back in operation at 4 a.m., however, cars traveling northbound were advised to exit the highway. The reasons behind the crash and the number of injuries remain uncertain. 12 News has contacted the State Police for more details and will provide updates on this story.
