Investigation of Deadly Car Crash in Richfield Springs by New York State Troopers
Troopers from Richfield Springs were called to the scene near the intersection of U.S. Route 20 and Skinner Road following reports of a vehicle in a pond. A passerby alerted 911 upon noticing part of a vehicle submerged in the water. Upon arrival, Troopers found the vehicle with a deceased occupant inside. Initial findings suggest that the incident involved a 39-year-old female driver from the area who failed to stop at a stop sign and ended up in the pond. The Underwater Recovery Team, as well as Richfield Fire/EMS and Otsego County Coroner, provided assistance at the scene. The investigation remains ongoing.
