Investigation into deadly accident by Hancock County Sheriff’s
The Hancock County Sheriff's Department is looking into a tragic collision that resulted in the death of one driver on Monday afternoon. The incident occurred at the intersection of County Road 600 East and US 40. An Acura driven by an adult female and a Ford F-350 driven by a young male were involved in the crash. The Acura, traveling north, failed to yield at a stop sign and collided with the Ford, which was heading east without a stop sign. The female driver was declared deceased at the scene, while the male driver was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The Sheriff's Office is still working to identify the deceased driver and inform her family. There is no suspicion of substance involvement, and the Sheriff’s Office advises drivers to be vigilant at intersections and thoroughly check both directions before proceeding.
