Illinois state trooper injured after squad car crashes with passenger vehicle near Garfield Park early Monday, state police say
CHICAGO — A state trooper was injured in a crash early Monday morning near Garfield Park on Chicago's West Side, according to Illinois State Police. ISP says troopers responded to West Jackson Boulevard and South Homan Avenue around 4:15 a.m. for a crash involving a passenger vehicle and an ISP squad car. Both the driver of the passenger vehicle and the state trooper in the squad car were taken to an area hospital with injuries. Due to the crash and investigation, W. Jackson Blvd. has been closed from South Central Park Avenue to S. Homan Ave. No further information is available at this time.
