Identity of the late Colorado senator killed in a car accident, believed to be Faith Winter’s fiancé Matt Gray.

Colorado State Senator Faith Winter tragically passed away in a highway accident in Centennial, Colorado, on November 26. The incident also left three others injured. According to The New York Post, the crash involved multiple vehicles, including a truck that had overturned. Faith Winter is survived by her two children, Tobin and Sienna, as well as her fiancé, Matt Gray, a former Colorado State Representative. Gray, who served three terms representing Colorado’s Congressional District 33, including Broomfield and Boulder, was reportedly involved in a DUI incident earlier this year. Following the accident, Colorado Senate President James Coleman and Majority Leader Robert Rodriguez released a statement expressing their grief over the loss of Senator Winter, highlighting her dedication to public service and compassion for the people of Colorado. Senator Faith Winter, who was 45 years old at the time of her death, had a background in public service that included serving on the Westminster City Council before being elected to the state Senate in 2019. Winter’s commitment to her role as Chair of the Transportation & Energy Committee and Assistant Senate Majority Leader was commendable, although she had faced a previous ethics violation for appearing intoxicated during a public meeting. Winter publicly apologized and sought treatment for alcohol use disorder following the incident.
