Identification of Victims in Deadly Upstate New York Bus Accident

New York State Police have identified the individuals who tragically lost their lives in a tour bus accident in Genesee County on Friday. The victims include a Columbia University student, residents from New Jersey, and an individual from India. The cause of the crash is still being investigated, and authorities confirmed that the bus had no mechanical issues and the driver was not impaired. The bus was operated by M&Y Tour Inc of Staten Island, which has a satisfactory safety rating based on federal records. The company reported no crashes in the past two years and had passed multiple vehicle inspections. The bus was carrying 54 passengers when it overturned on Interstate 90, causing multiple passengers to be ejected from the vehicle. Five individuals were pronounced dead at the scene, while others, including children, were taken to nearby hospitals for treatment. Counseling services are available to students affected by the tragic event. The investigation into the crash is ongoing, and authorities are seeking witnesses or dash cam footage to assist with their inquiries.
