Identification of victim in fatal Dallas train crash

Authorities at the Dallas County Medical Examiner's Office have recognized one individual from the two who met their demise in an accident when their vehicle was struck by a train. The incident occurred close to the Medical Market TRE Station on Harry Hines Boulevard at approximately 9:30 a.m. The deceased has been identified as 50-year-old Melissa Rose Campanella. The identity of the second individual in the vehicle remains unknown. It is uncertain whether Campanella was the driver or the passenger of the vehicle. According to DART officials, the relatives of the victims were informed on the same day. Train services were suspended until the tracks were cleared, with operations resuming approximately four hours later. Fortunately, no train passengers were injured in the crash. An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
