Houston firefighters and 18-wheeler driver injured in Montgomery County collision
Four Houston firefighters were taken to the hospital early Sunday after their firetruck was hit by an 18-wheeler on the Eastex Freeway in Montgomery County. The incident occurred around 3:30 a.m. at the Highway 59 North entrance ramp at Northpark Drive. The Houston Department reported that the fire engine was blocking traffic due to another accident when the 18-wheeler collided with it. The four firefighters and the driver of the 18-wheeler were hospitalized with various injuries, but all are expected to recover. The cause of the crash is still under investigation by Houston Police, and the identities of those involved have not been disclosed.
