Hit-and-run crash claims life of St. Charles grandmother
Police in St. Louis County, Missouri are currently looking for a driver involved in a tragic weekend accident that resulted in the death of a St. Charles woman named Jennifer Eggering, age 54. The incident occurred on Saturday at the intersection of Earth City Expressway and Rider Trail South around 2 p.m. while Eggering was riding a motorcycle. Sadly, she did not survive despite efforts to save her at the hospital. Even though she was wearing a helmet, she suffered from brain swelling and lack of oxygen. A fundraiser for Eggering's family described her as a kind grandmother. Authorities are investigating the crash, and it was determined that the motorcycle, carrying two passengers, was traveling north on Earth City Expressway and had a green light when it entered the intersection.
