Highway 89 closed after fatal crash
(FOX40.COM) — Highway 89 is closed between Truckee and Tahoe City because of a fatal crash. The California Highway Patrol said Friday morning that State Route 89 is closed in both directions south of Olympic Valley Road. Officials reported that a "fatal traffic collision" occurred, but no additional details have been provided so far. "There is no estimated time of reopening," CHP said in a social media post. "Please avoid the area, use alternate routes and expect extended delays."
