
Highway 24 west closure due to fatal crash.
The Sheriff's Office in Teller County has reported that a crash has resulted in the closure of Highway 24 in both directions at Robin Hood Drive near the Sherwood Forest development. The Colorado State Patrol has confirmed that this accident, involving a motorcycle and a car, was fatal. The incident was reported at approximately 2:06 p.m., and upon arrival, emergency crews found the motorcyclist had tragically passed away. There is no information yet on injuries sustained by the car driver. Due to the incident, the roadway will remain closed for an extended period for investigation and cleanup, leading to significant delays throughout the evening. A driver in the area shared a video showing a Teller County Sheriff's Office Deputy redirecting traffic. The Colorado State Patrol mentioned that crews from CDOT are working to establish detour routes around the crash site. Drivers can expect eastbound traffic to be rerouted onto Teller County Road through Cripple Creek and then onto Highway 67 to reconnect with eastbound 24. Westbound traffic will be directed onto Highway 67 South and around Cripple Creek.
