Gardendale Man Killed in Cullman County Crash on I-65
A Gardendale man was killed early Monday morning in a single-vehicle crash on Interstate 65 in Cullman County. According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, 21-year-old Hakeem X. Collins was fatally injured when the 2015 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck he was driving left the roadway and struck a tree. Troopers said Collins was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene. The crash happened at approximately 12:05 a.m. Monday, June 8, on Interstate 65 near the 295-mile marker, about five miles northwest of Dodge City. The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency's Highway Patrol Division is continuing to investigate the crash. No additional information has been released.
