Franklin County Jail inmates create crosses for Eastpoint car crash victims

FRANKLIN COUNTY, Fla. (WMBB) - The Franklin County Sheriff's Office is honoring the lives of three Georgia teens who were killed in a car accident on Monday. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the teens were traveling southbound on State Road 65 when they ran off the road and into the tree line. Three teenagers, 16-year-old Charlotte Martin, 17-year-old Jaylyn Fehr, and 18-year-old Jackson Mobley, were killed. On Thursday, inmates at the Franklin County jail built three crosses for the three lives lost…and placed them at the side of State Road 65. "This is just a way that we can show our respect to the families and to their memories. So we hope that maybe this will give a little comfort to the family. So when people drop by, they can see these, and it'll just be a way to remember these teenagers. And hopefully, you know, people have positive thoughts and so their memories live on because they may be gone, but their spirits and their memories will live on forever," Franklin County Sheriff A.J. Smith said Jackson's sister, 17-year-old Jamison Mobley, was life-flighted to Tallahassee. She remains in recovery. The families have set up a GoFundMe; you can find the link here.
