
Footage released of police-involved crash that tragically claimed life of 3-year-old Maryland girl
Officials have shared distressing video footage from body-worn and dashboard cameras revealing the aftermath of a tragic police-involved collision that resulted in the death of 3-year-old Zoey Rose-Marie Harrison. The incident took place on March 7 in Capitol Heights around 6:30 p.m. The footage, made public by the Maryland Office of the Attorney General, depicts a police attempt to stop an SUV on Marlboro Pike in District Heights. The SUV accelerates, prompting a chase where the vehicle enters oncoming traffic. Although the officer lost sight of the SUV, they came upon the crash site on Addison Road South where the SUV had crashed into four other vehicles. The video also shows the heartbreaking moments as officers rescued Harrison and her mother from their car, which had been pushed into a wooded area. Despite being taken to the hospital, the girl later passed away. The SUV's driver was apprehended and received medical treatment for minor injuries. Other individuals involved in the crash sustained minor injuries as well. The Maryland Attorney General's Independent Investigations Division is currently investigating the tragic incident further.
