Footage: LMPD officer drives quickly without lights before deadly crash
The Louisville Metro Police Department has recently made public a video of an incident involving an officer that resulted in the death of an individual. The incident occurred on the evening of April 2 at the intersection of Fern Valley Road and Jeanine Drive. Officer Alyssa Begel was responding to an EMS call when her vehicle collided with another vehicle driven by Charles Briscoe, who tragically lost his life. The released video shows the events leading up to the crash, indicating that Begel was driving at a high speed without her lights and sirens activated. Begel, a member of the force since 2022, has been placed on paid administrative leave while both the department and law enforcement authorities conduct investigations into the incident.
