Fire truck in Ann Arbor hit at crash site, minor injuries reported
A fire department truck from Ann Arbor, Michigan, was one of the vehicles involved in a multi-vehicle accident on Sunday morning. The Ann Arbor Fire Department reported that their Engine 1-3, based at Veterans Park, was at the scene of the crash on icy and snowy roads on Jackson Road near the westbound exit of Interstate 94. While the crew was assisting those in the initial crash, another vehicle lost control on the exit ramp, causing a chain of crashes, one of which ended with a vehicle hitting the fire truck. Fortunately, only minor injuries were reported among the occupants of the vehicles, and no firefighters were harmed, although the front of the truck sustained damage. The fire department highlighted the 20th anniversary of a previous fatal crash involving a firefighter under similar road conditions nearby. They issued a reminder to drivers to drive cautiously, maintain distance, and yield for emergency vehicles on the road.
