Fatality reported in Route 22 crash in Westmoreland County
A 71-year-old man sadly lost his life in a tragic incident when his Ford Flex station wagon collided with a dump truck in Murrysville, Westmoreland County. The collision occurred near the intersection of Route 22 and Mellon Road early Saturday morning. The driver, identified as Thomas Peer, succumbed to blunt force injuries sustained in the crash, as confirmed by County Coroner Tim Carson. Emergency responders were dispatched to the scene around 3:30 a.m. The dump truck driver was unharmed, according to Carson. Cleanup efforts were extensive, involving multiple responder stations such as Murrysville Volunteer Fire Department, as reported by Murrysville Medic One.
