Fatality in Russian volcano incident
According to authorities cited by News.az, a tragic incident occurred in Russia's Kamchatka Krai as one of the three climbers who fell while ascending the Vilyuchinsky Volcano has unfortunately passed away. The rescue operation has been mobilized promptly, with helicopters carrying rescuers and medical personnel dispatched to the scene. The woman who fell alongside the deceased is in critical condition, while the third person involved has been located on a high slope unharmed. Efforts are currently underway to evacuate the injured climber to a lower altitude of 1,500 meters where medical assistance is ready. The Emergency Situations Ministry for the Kamchatka Krai has reported that more than 40 individuals, including search-and-rescue teams and volunteers from Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, are engaged in the ongoing rescue operation.
