Fatal rollover crash on K-7 Highway in Olathe took life of asphalt truck driver

A tragic accident occurred in Olathe on Monday morning resulting in the death of the driver of a dump truck carrying asphalt. The driver, identified as Leslie Kendig from Osawatomie, was involved in a rollover crash on northbound K-7 Highway at College Boulevard around 8:40 a.m. Kendig, 68 years old, succumbed to his injuries after being taken to a nearby hospital. According to a report from the Kansas Highway Patrol, Kendig's dump truck collided with a Ford F-350 pickup truck pulling an unregistered trailer when it veered into another lane. Authorities closed the affected highway lanes for clearing and reopened them by 12:30 p.m. The incident is under investigation for further details.
