Fatal rollover crash on I-694 in Brooklyn Park
A young woman tragically lost her life and two others were hurt in a rollover accident in the northern metropolitan area on Tuesday evening. The accident occurred on Interstate 694 near Highway 10, when the driver, Fatuma Yussuf Sharif-Isaack, veered from the right lane into the left shoulder, striking the guardrail. The vehicle then rolled over and collided with another car. Despite being rushed to Hennepin Healthcare, Sharif-Isaack did not survive the crash as she had not been wearing a seat belt. Two passengers in the car, a woman from Brooklyn Park and another from Fridley, sustained injuries but are expected to recover. Fortunately, the driver of the other vehicle involved, a woman from Maplewood, escaped unharmed.
