Fatal road rage incident in California: police

A tragic incident in Southern California resulted in the death of an innocent driver and injuries to two passengers when a road rage clash between two other drivers caused a box truck to crash into a brick wall. The Long Beach Police Department reported the collision occurred at around 11:45 a.m. on Wednesday near 7th Street and Margo Avenue in Long Beach. Emergency responders were already on the scene attempting to extricate the driver trapped inside the truck, identified as a 2017 Mitsubishi Fuso, when police arrived. Regrettably, the driver of the truck lost his life, while the two passengers and the driver of a 2023 Tesla Model 3 were transported to a local hospital for medical care. Authorities stated that the Tesla and a dark Subaru were engaged in a road rage argument, engaging in reckless driving before the Tesla rear-ended the box truck, causing it to crash through a brick wall and overturn. Although the truck was carrying hazardous materials, none were released during the accident investigation. The 31-year-old Tesla driver from San Diego was identified, but the name of the deceased truck driver was withheld pending family notification. Witnesses to the incident were urged to contact Detective Ashley Van Holland of the Long Beach Police Department at 562-570-7355. Reports can also be made anonymously through Crime Stoppers at 800-222-8477 or the lacrimestoppers.org website.
