Fatal pedestrian crash on Centerville Tpke in Virginia Beach
VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) - A pedestrian died after being struck by a vehicle on Wednesday, April 22, in the 1900 block of Centerville Turnpike in Virginia Beach. The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities after the fatal incident, Virginia Beach Police confirmed. Emergency Communications and Citizens Services (ECCS) received the report of the pedestrian-auto crash just before 9 p.m. The pedestrian was pronounced deceased at the scene of the incident. Police have not released the identity of the pedestrian. The Virginia Beach Police Department Traffic Safety Unit is investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.
