Fatal multi-vehicle crash involving motorcyclist in east Columbus

On Saturday night, a tragic triple motorcycle accident took place in east Columbus resulting in the death of 31-year-old Keenen Smith. Columbus police reported that while Smith was riding a Kawasaki on Interstate 670 at 5th Avenue, a collision occurred with a Honda being driven by another person. This collision led to Smith and another rider being thrown from their motorcycles. Sadly, Smith did not survive, while the other rider received treatment at a nearby hospital. The cause of the accident is being investigated by Columbus police's accident investigation unit. In a separate incident that night, around 15 minutes later, a multi-motorcycle crash happened in northern Columbus, where two motorcycles left the road and crashed into a wooded area. One of the drivers was hospitalized in critical condition, while the other driver was fortunate to walk away unharmed.
