Fatal multi-car crash on 210 Freeway in San Fernando Valley

A fatal multi-car collision occurred on Sunday night on the 210 Freeway in the San Fernando Valley, resulting in one fatality and injuries to at least six individuals, with three in critical condition. The accident took place near Sunland Boulevard in the Shadow Hills area and involved four vehicles. Emergency responders, including firefighters and the Los Angeles Fire Department, arrived at the scene to provide assistance. One person was tragically pronounced dead, with five others receiving medical attention at a nearby hospital. Notably, a 61-year-old woman and two men, aged 30 and 40, were reported to be in serious condition. The California Highway Patrol initiated an investigation into the crash, leading to a temporary closure of all westbound lanes on the freeway. While a SigAlert was released with an approximate duration of three hours for the closure, officers managed to open the No.1 lane to traffic around 10 p.m. As a result of the crash, traffic congestion was visible from the SkyCal aircraft above the site, showing a significant backlog of vehicles along the freeway.
