A tragic incident took place in Madison on Sunday afternoon when a 36-year-old motorcyclist lost his life in a collision. According to a statement from the Metro Nashville Police Department, the accident occurred at around 12:30 p.m. on Gallatin Pike South. Initial findings suggest that a Toyota Rav4 had slowed down to make a right turn into a parking lot, leading to a collision with the motorcycle from behind. The victim, identified as C.W. Smith, was thrown from his Harley Davidson in the impact and despite being rushed to Skyline Medical Center, he succumbed to his injuries. Authorities have indicated that there was no evidence of impairment involved in the incident. Tragically, this incident follows the passing of a young individual from Brentwood in a crash on Old Hickory Boulevard the day before, as well as another fatal crash involving a motorcyclist on Interstate 24 the previous night. Additionally, a hit-and-run incident on Old Hickory Boulevard claimed the life of another motorcyclist, prompting renewed appeals for enhanced road safety measures.
