Fatal motorcycle collision on State Route 2 leads to two deaths
Two individuals from Georgia tragically lost their lives in a fatal motorcycle accident that took place in the Bascom area of Jackson County, Florida. The incident occurred on Sunday evening on State Road 2 near Eden Rd. An 80-year-old man from Bascom was driving a pick-up truck eastbound on State Road 2, while a 59-year-old man from Georgia was operating a motorcycle and attempted to pass the truck. The motorcycle entered the left lane to overtake, but the pickup truck driver decelerated and made a left turn into a private driveway, leading to a collision between the motorcycle and the truck. The motorcycle driver and their passenger, also from Georgia, were thrown from the bike and tragically lost their lives. Subsequently, the pick-up truck collided with a fence after the initial accident.
