Fatal motorcycle accident on Highway 101 in San Jose

On Monday night, a tragic three-vehicle collision occurred on U.S. Highway 101 in San Jose, resulting in the death of a motorcyclist and injuries to another driver, as reported by authorities. The incident took place around 8:45 p.m. on southbound 101 near Capitol Expressway in South San Jose. According to the California Highway Patrol, a motorcycle lost control and crashed, leading to a chain reaction. Unfortunately, the 43-year-old motorcyclist from Merced County did not survive, while the Kia driver involved sustained minor injuries. The collision resulted in the closure of five out of the six southbound lanes for about three hours. The investigation into the crash is ongoing, and witnesses or individuals with information have been urged to reach out to the San Jose CHP office.
