Fatal Modesto intersection crash leads to driver's death days later
Modesto Police Department reported that a Modesto driver passed away several days after being involved in a two-vehicle collision on Oct. 25. The incident, which occurred at the intersection of Pelandale Avenue and Prescott Road around 8 a.m., involved a 2005 Honda Accord and a 2009 Nissan Cube. The driver of the Nissan Cube was ejected from the vehicle upon impact and was taken to a local hospital in critical condition. Despite immediate CPR efforts by bystanders, the driver later succumbed to his injuries. Authorities noted that drugs and alcohol were not contributing factors in the crash.
