Father and son injured in East Bakersfield after being hit by suspected DUI driver: authorities
According to police reports, in East Bakersfield, an alleged drunk driver hit a father and his 8-year-old son on East California Avenue. The collision occurred around 12:09 p.m., and emergency services responded to the scene promptly. The pickup truck lost control, crashed through a fence, and collided with a food truck in a nearby parking lot. The child sustained life-threatening injuries, while the father had moderate injuries. They were rushed to the hospital for treatment. The driver, Andres Serna, 33, was found to be intoxicated and was apprehended before being taken to the hospital for his injuries.
