Fatal Huntington Beach Chase: Dog and Another Driver Hurt

A high-speed pursuit in Huntington Beach early Saturday morning ended in a crash that resulted in a suspect's death and injuries to a dog and another motorist. The incident began when callers reported a black Ford Bronco driving recklessly near Pacific Coast Highway and Brookhurst Street. Officers located the Ford, attempted to stop it, but the vehicle fled. The pursuit ended with the Ford colliding with a grey Honda SUV and a pole at the intersection of Beach Boulevard and Warner Avenue. The driver of the Ford died at the scene, and a German Shepherd dog in the vehicle was injured and taken to a veterinary hospital. The driver of the Honda, a female adult, was also injured and taken by ambulance. The collision caused damage to a gas station and closed traffic in the area while authorities investigated.
