Fatal Hickory County crash claims life of 64-year-old woman
HICKORY COUNTY, Mo. — A 64-year-old woman has died after a crash in Hickory County on Tuesday, Feb. 24. According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP) crash report, a 64-year-old woman from Lee's Summit, Missouri, died around 4:50 p.m. on U.S. 54, six miles east of Preston, Missouri. The report says the crash occured as the woman was driving a 2017 Ford Escape west when the vehicle ran off the road and struck a tree. MSHP states the woman was pronounced dead by Hickory County Coroner Richard Avery. The next of kin has been notified. This is the 13th fatal crash for Troop D in 2026.
