Fatal head-on crash near Lowell results in 1 death
A tragic incident occurred over the weekend near Lowell when a fatal head-on collision took place on Centerline Road in Boston Township. According to the Ionia County Sheriff’s Office, a vehicle traveling eastward crossed the centerline and collided with another vehicle around 6 p.m. Emergency responders attempted to resuscitate an unconscious female driver from Lowell, but she unfortunately passed away at the scene. The occupants of the other vehicle sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to the hospital. Authorities believe that speed and alcohol may have been factors in the accident, and assistance was provided by Michigan State Police, Saranac Fire and Life EMS, and Aeromed.
