Fatal head-on crash in Jennings County leaves one person dead
In North Vernon, Indiana, a tragic incident occurred as reported by the Indiana State Police, where a man lost his life in a fatal crash on Thursday morning. The collision happened around 7:30 a.m. on U.S. 50 near Private Road 125 East, involving a blue 1998 Toyota vehicle driven by William Rabe Jr. (54 years old) traveling westbound. The vehicle veered into the oncoming lane, causing a collision with a Buick driven by a 36-year-old from North Vernon. Regrettably, Rabe was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Jennings County Coroner's Office, while the other driver sustained severe injuries and was transported to a hospital. An ongoing investigation is being conducted by the Jennings County Sheriff's Office and the Indiana State Police; however, alcohol and drugs are currently ruled out as factors in the tragic incident. Collaboration in the investigation was provided by multiple respective agencies.
