Fatal head-on crash in Baytown during police pursuit injures 2 others
A fatal crash occurred on Friday evening on State Highway 146 in Baytown, leading to the closure of the road section between Kilgore and Devinwood. Baytown police reported spotting a speeding BMW near Alexander Drive and attempting to pull over the reckless driver who refused to stop and continued traveling northbound. As the pursuit crossed into Chambers County's jurisdiction, the Chambers County Sheriff's Office took over. The BMW was later involved in a head-on collision near Crystal Boulevard, resulting in the ejection and death of the male driver. The occupants of the other vehicle involved sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were taken to the hospital. The driver's identity has not been disclosed, and the Chambers County Sheriff's Office is investigating the incident.
