Fatal head-on collision near Liberty County High School on Sunday leads to woman's death
A tragic incident occurred early Sunday at the intersection of U.S. 84/Ga. 38 and John Martin Road, resulting in the death of a 20-year-old woman from Allenhurst. The Georgia State Patrol (GSP) responded to the scene following reports received just after 6 a.m. The GSP investigation revealed that the woman, identified as Kortney Jackson, was driving a 2016 Honda Civic in the wrong direction when she collided head-on with a 2025 Genesis GV70. Unfortunately, Jackson was pronounced deceased at Liberty Regional Medical Center. The driver of the Genesis was transported to Memorial Health University Medical Center and is currently in stable condition. The intersection was closed for several hours to allow authorities to conduct their inquiries.
