Fatal crash on I-90: 3 dead in collision with semi-truck

Three people tragically lost their lives in a fatal crash on Interstate 90 near Drummond in Powell County on Tuesday. The accident occurred when a Hyundai Elantra, driven by a 40-year-old woman from Missoula, spun out of control into oncoming traffic, colliding with an eastbound Volvo tractor-trailer. The impact was severe, causing the Elantra to split into three pieces, with one section catching fire on the interstate, another landing further away, and one remaining trapped under the semi-trailer. Unfortunately, all three occupants of the Elantra, including the driver, a 31-year-old man from Marion, and a 9-year-old boy, were pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the truck, a 34-year-old man from Ogden, Utah, was unharmed. The Montana Highway Patrol is investigating the crash, considering speed and the wet and icy conditions of the interstate at the time as potential factors.
