Fatal crash on I-70 in Indianapolis under investigation by Indiana State Police
Indiana State Police are currently looking into a tragic collision that took place on Interstate 70 in Indianapolis on Sunday evening. The incident occurred on the eastbound side of I-70 close to mile marker 86 before 9:43 p.m. As a result of the crash, authorities had to shut down the right two lanes of the highway as well as part of the entrance ramp from Emerson Avenue to I-70 eastbound on the eastern side of the city. Reports suggest that a semi-truck and a red SUV were involved in the collision. While law enforcement has confirmed one fatality, they are still investigating to determine if anyone else was hurt in the accident. The Indiana Department of Transportation and Indiana State Police have not provided an estimate as to how long their investigation will continue on the interstate.
