Fatal crash on HWY 41 leaves 1 dead, 2 injured, CHP says
KINGS COUNTY, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – One person is dead, and two others have moderate injuries after a 2020 Honda Pilot crash and overturned while passing vehicles Friday evening, according to the California Highway Patrol. CHP says around 4:50 p.m., they responded to the area of Highway 41, north of Quebec Avenue, for a crash. Investigators with CHP say a woman was driving the Honda Pilot northbound on Highway 41, north of Quebec Avenue. CHP says the woman was passing another vehicle by entering the southbound traffic lane. At the same time, they say another vehicle was traveling southbound on Highway 41, approaching the Honda. The driver of the Honda, according to CHP, did not have enough time to safely pass and made an unsafe left turn and continued off the roadway. The Honda overturned into a dry canal, and one passenger in the Honda died, CHP says. The driver of the Honda and another passenger sustained moderate injuries and were both transported to Kaweah Delta Medical Center in Visalia for medical treatment, according to CHP.
